Compactness of Weak Radio Sources at High Frequencies
We have obtained 8.4 GHz VLBA observations of a 31-GHz complete sample of ∼ 100 sources between 10 and 100 mJy. The main goals of these observations are: to determine the angular size, radio spectra and identification for a weak sample of high frequency sources; to find the fraction of sources which have sufficiently compact emission for use as calibrators for VLBI observations; and for design ...
متن کاملHigh Frequency GPS sources in the AT20G Survey
The Australia Telescope 20GHz (AT20G) survey was used to select a complete sample of 656 Gigahertz Peaked Spectrum (GPS) sources with spectral turnovers above 5GHz. The AT20G has near simultaneous observations at 4.8, 8.6 and 20GHz, which makes it possible to exclude flat spectrum variability as a cause of a source’s peaked spectrum. Optical identification of the sample results in 361 QSOs and ...

متن کاملConfidence Regions for Spectral Peak Frequencies
A procedure is proposed to obtain confidence regions for spectral peak frequencies. The method is based on resampling the penodogram from the estimated spectrum in order to reestimate the spectrum and its peak frequency. We investigate the dependence of the results from the applied spectral estimator in three simulation studies and apply the method to tremor data.
